Haha...I think he looks really like a cute little puppy here! :P

My Darlings

I love watching the father and sons engaging themselves in some silly stuff.

I can see Damien bahaving more and more like the father, while botak copies almost every single move the gor gor made. It's such a heartwarming feeling seeing how my 3 darlings getting along so well. :)

What is your eye colour?

Damien asked me one day: "Mummy, what colour is our eyes?" "Black." He took a closer look at me and continued: "But..mummy, why is your eyes brown in color?" hmm...I decided to tease him and so I replied: "Well, you know why? That's because mummy has special power, that's why."

To my surprise, he really believe what I told him and said: "Ah Mummy, I know I know, that's why you can always guess what I am drinking right? And you also know what I am thinking and what I am going to say sometimes! Wow, mummy, I also want to have this special power!"

Haha, kids are just kids. So these days, when he is able to solve more complex problem sums; or when he perfected yet another Yo-Yo stunts, he would point to his eyes and said: "See, mummy, my eyes are turning brown slowly!" silly boy! :)

You Are 7!!

You are 7 today, my little hero! :)

My wish for you is to grow up healthy and happy, and be blessed with lotsa love and friends!

You know, you are growing way too fast, sometimes mummy wish time could slow down a little so that I can enjoy more of your cuddles and kisses.

Darling, always remember you have a very special place in my heart. I love you, my baby.

Lantern Festival

We had wanted to join in the Heart Formation of people carrying Lantern at Vivo City on Saturday. However, the sky was gloomy when we reached, and it started to drizzle while we were having our dinner. We aborted the plan and walked around the mall instead. Damein was disappointed, and he asked me: "Mummy, can I carry my lantern tomorrow?"

It was still drizzling when we were on our way home. The kids ended up playing with their lanterns in the car.:)

Children's Day

Baking, watching TV programs and playing their favourite LEGO was how my two boys spent their Children’s Day.

Damien requested to have the Doggie cookies after he read about them at Ivy’s blog, so this morning, we decided to bake and named it our mini Children’s Day project. :)

The boy was all excited about this project. He helped me to set up my newly bought Mixer and went through the ingredients to make sure the blur mummy did not missed out anything. I must say he is a very good helper. :)

Talk about the Mixer, it really makes wonders! The dough was done in less than 10 mins!! What a jiffy! However, the ‘making’ of the doggie face was quite a challenge. Perhaps we are not one with nimble fingers, our doggie face was not nicely done. Damien nearly wanted to give up, haha…but he persisted, and eventually decided to come up with his own design – boy face with hat. :)

Both boys found the cookies not sweet enough, they’ve got sweet tooth like me!! :) Damien even commented: ‘Mummy, I was so happy when I was preparing but when I eat, I was a bit disappointed, because it’s not sweet at all.” Silly boy.

I cooked noodle for them as lunch, just a simple soup noodle dish but Damien said it was delicious and finished it in record time. :) He is always so encouraging. :) We had a short nap after our bath. Did some assessment with Damien, and off he went to watch his favourite OKTO program and played LEGO with botak, while I prepared their dinner.

Nothing special on this day, but Damien said he enjoyed the baking, the TV program and ‘mummy’s noodle’. I feel so blessed. :)

Girl Girl

Damien saw these pictures of botak with tigger and he went: "Mummy, only girl girl take pictures with soft toys! Why did you asked didi to take picture this way! He looks like a girl now...haha!!"
Hmm...so he thinks only girls can take pictures with soft toys...

Launch of Fathers

Damien's school has started a support group amongst the fathers known as Launch of Fathers. The group's objective is to support fathers in the important parenting role as well as for fathers to become heroes in the eyes of their children.

Hubby attended the launch event two Saturdays ago, and he has volunteered to be in the committee. There will be activities like outings, picnics, nature walk, rock climbing or ball games etc organised to forge the bonds between fathers and children.

Starting this Saturday, there will be a weekly badminton session. Damien is all excited about playing badminton with the daddy. The pair went out to buy their badminton rackets over the weekend, and now they are all set for the game. :)

I am glad hubby take the initiative to be involved in Damien's school life, and I believe it would make a difference to both father and son. :)

20092009

An easy date to remember...the day my brother held his customary wedding ceremony. Just a very simple affair between two families. The bride was not even in a wedding gown and there was no bridal car (hubby was the driver for that day); dinner was also within immediate family members at Kam Boat Chinese Cuisine. But I think what's most important is that the couple is happy, and they are, it's all written over their faces. :)
The yummy roast pig; oranges; mum's delicious noodles and 'tang yuan'.
The tea ceremony...
My family! :)

Here's wishing them a blissful marriage! :)

Who is your Superhero??

While we were in the car, Daddy asked his boy casually: "Damien, who is your superhero?"

We were expecting answers like 'Ben10' or 'transformers' or 'spiderman' and the likes, you know how kids these days are crazy over these characters.

Instead, he answered without any hesitation : 'You lor!"

I know the dad must have felt so proud after hearing what the boy said...he was speechless for a moment...hehe..

I was jealous, so I asked him: "how about mummy??" He thought for a moment and answered: "hmm..you are a 'super house', because you stay at home and take care of everything in the house, so you are a super house.' Haha...I think he probably meant 'super housewife'. yeah, pardon me for being 'thick-skinned' :P

Two outings and A Date...

Zoo trip - 10 Sept 2009

The weather was fine when we left for the zoo after our lunch, and the boys fell asleep in the car. Well, at least they were fully charged when we reached our destination.

Although it's the school holidays, it was not as crowded as I expected. We walked around and decided to catch the elephant show. Damien was fascinated with the show, but not botak. He was terrified by the loud splash made when the elephants threw logs into the water, and cried so hard that I had to carry him away to calm him down.

We went to Kidz World but the boys did not have any water play as both had just recovered from flu. I can see that Damien was so envious of the kids having fun at the water area. We tried to talk him into taking pony rides instead, but he was not very keen, “Can you go with me? No? So I’ll be alone? Then never mind, I don’t want.” Haha, what a timid boy. :P

The 'must-have' picture for Damien each time we visited the zoo...
What caught their attention?? It's a baby monkey... :)

My little terror insisted on walking on his own...

Qian Hu Fish Farm - 11 Sept 2009

The boys love fish, goldfish in particular. So a visit to the fish farm is a must on our holiday itinerary.
The father and son spent close to an hour selecting the fish that met their criteria – short and fat and lion-head. Not sure how they come up with this, but Damien treat it as serious business. He armed himself with a pail and a net, and off he went for ‘The Search’.

While the pair was busy ‘fishing’, the bored mummy decided to take some pictures with the little one.

They finally decide on their catch. Look at the smile on their faces! Even though I can’t understand what special power these tiny little gold fishes have which makes the pair go crazy over them, I am happy as long as they are happy. :)
In the evening, hubby and I had a short break away from the kids. We left botak with mum while Damien attended his enrichment class. It’s been such a long long time since we spent time alone as a couple. We went to Coffee Bean for drinks and cakes, take a slow walk around the shopping mall, it’s like back to our courtship days. Though it’s only a short 1.5 hours, it rejuvenates our souls. I hope we can find time for such short breaks more often.

Before the school holidays end...

Daddy is on leave today and tomorrow, woohoo! :)

Our plan for today is to head to the zoo (my kind neighbour offered us their free pass as they were not able to go) and come up close with the animals. Damien is all excited about the trip while botak is, well, not very keen to see the animals. "don't want zoo, want go take sky train." This boy is 'hooked' on taking trains recently...

As for tomorrow, the daddy wants to bring the boys to Qian Hu (the 'famous' fish farm) for a visit. Did I mention before that my 3 boys are 'fish craze'?? In the evening, we plan to put botak under mum's care Damien attends his enrichment class. That means hubby and I will have 1.5 hours to ourself!! Miserable yet precious 1.5hours...where shall we go?? what shall we do?? hehe, I'm so excited already..

As for the weekends, maybe we'll bring the boys out for a picnic. No concrete plans yet, but I hope Damien will enjoy the last few days of his one-week school break, as our 'dating' trip did not materialise as mum was not free over the past few days to babysit botak for us.

Looking forward to my super long weekend! :)

Cookies Affair...

I tried out the recipe on Oatmeal and Raisins/choc chips cookies last Sunday. How does it turn out?I spent almost the whole afternoon in the kitchen and burnt the very first tray of cookies (haha). I guess I was too confident and did not keep a close watch on the cookies while they were being baked. Thank goodness, the subsequent trays of cookies turned out fine. :)I divided my dough into two parts; one with raisins (for hubby) and the other with choc chips (for the boys).

Damien said they taste yummy (he always give positive reviews) and he even suggested: "Mummy, you can start a cookies shop! You bake in the shop while didi and I run and play around the shop. So fun right?" It'll be fun for them but not for me. :P

My next 'big' project will be baking for my brother's wedding in two weeks' time. Just a simple affair within family members and I thought it's a great idea to chat and munch on home made cookies with the ones I love. :)

A Reminder...

This is on the wall of our living room. I printed it out as a constant reminder to myself.
Positive discipline = a positive child. :)

Of course, it's always easier said than done...I don't deny there were times I make negative remarks on Damien's behaviour; spew 'not-so-pleasant' words to my 7-year-old and even to my 2-year-old; loses my temper on countless occasions; not being enouraging and patience enough in guiding them...

Everday is a learning process, and I must always remember that I am a mirror to them - to rid them off their undesirable behaviour, I must set a good example.

I hope I can be the mummy they are proud of in years to come. :)
